Physiology Research

Picture
The lab of Dr. Juan Carlos Melgar is part of Clemson University's Plant and Environmental Sciences program. We focus on current physiological issues regarding peach trees as well as other small fruits important to regional growers.

Our research directions focus on the optimization of nutritional management, water-saving strategies, cultivar evaluations, horticultural practices that increase the value of agricultural products, and on the effect of biotic and abiotic stresses in physiological responses for peach, blackberry and citrus production in South Carolina, United States.
